Who Am I?

Maria Mora, but the homies call me Mars. I'm a New Jersey native, but I also spent some time living in Florida. The north called me back, though. Growing up, writing was something I always found joy and solace in. Now as an adult, I found a way to turn a passion into my purpose.

I aim to tell rich stories that are rooted in BIPOC excellence. Whether that’s through a 1500 word article or a :15s spot, intentional and purposeful writing is my goal.

I had a brain aneurysm when I was 8 yrs old and survived. WOO!

I won county/state-wide awards playing the clarinet.

I hung out with Raekwon once and we had a great conversation. (Ask me about it if you're curious)

I wanted to be an astronaut growing up, but then I realized math was a requirement. Not my forté.
